The following Proposals were voted on 2/26 and both were passed for the full amount. As your Hope South Senator, I voted in favor of the AS Marketing proposal and against the Horton proposal. If you had any further questions as to why I voted the way I did please don’t hesistate to ask or look up the Senate Minutes.
Proposal: Subsidize the cost for fifteen more AS hoodies. Amount Requested: $150
Proposal: Money to reduce the cost of a movie ticket for Horton residents to see the movie “Horton Hears a Who” in March. Amount Requested: $675
Honestly this week I’m not passionately for or against the proposals. Senator South Horton is trying to provide a fun event for the Horton community. She wants to buy enough tickets to buy out an entire theatre for the movie “Horton Hears a Who” and then sell the tickets to Horton residents at a discounted rate. I see this as a cute event that could be fun for a lot of residents in Horton. What do you guys think?
Every year AS makes sweatshirts for the staff. This year, each staff member paid $15 dollars for their individual hoodie and part of the Marketing budget was used to help subsidize some of the cost over $15. Apparently, some people didn’t receive a hoodie even though they had ordered one. There was a slip-up in the ordering and now Marketing is asking for $150 to order 15 new hoodies. What are your thoughts on spending $150 more?
