SUBJECT: AS Folios for the future
1. Proposal: I am proposing for AS Folios for future AS people.
2. Amount Requested: Between $552 and $1003
3. Problems with Status Quo: Future AS’ers will want to have these folios. We usually order them through the Biola Bookstore’s supplier, and the bookstore contacted us because their supplier accidentally sent them 72 AS Portfolios instead of the normal Biola portfolios the bookstore sells. So they are seeing if we want to buy them at a discounted price.
4. Miscellaneous: These portfolios normally cost $19.95 each. We have been offered a 30% discount, which makes them $13.95 each. 36 Portfolios, plus tax, comes to ~$552 at that price. The full amount of 72 portfolios plus tax comes to ~$1003. Whatever we can buy now will save AS money in the future, because they will not be able to get a discount like this again. We have storage space to keep them for a year or two and save money in the end, if we buy them now. A combination of contingency and discretionary funds could be used; depending on how much is spent from the discretionary funds in the next week.
