SUBJECT: Good Morning Commuters
1. Proposal: This proposal is to co-sponsor with Commuter Life in hosting a twice monthly “Good Morning Commuter” event. This event will occur between 9:00am and 11:00am every other Wednesday. This allows us to maintain connection with commuter students in a physical location rather than in just the Collegium. This facilitates our communication with the commuters and helps us not only promote unity but AS events as well. In addition, this will be used as a time to talk with our constituents about pending proposals. The goal of this event is to empower students by letting them know that their ideas and suggestions are taken seriously. Also, this helps us create continuous relationships with member of AS.
2. Amount Requested: $475 This is half of what the event costs, as Commuter Life pays for the other half. In total this will allow us to have 8 Good Morning Commuters.
3. Problems with the Status Quo: Commuters do not have a centralized location where they can consistently get informed about what is going on. Because a vast majority of commuters are not Collegium members, they often have a difficult time adequately communicating with their senators. This event has been very successful in past years and we hope it will continue on.
4. Miscellaneous: Commuter Life is partnering with AS. They provide paper goods (ie napkins, plates, etc.) and all marketing posts/ advertising costs, in addition to, splitting the bill with us.
