SUBJECT: Change to Bylaw XIV
1. Proposal: I am proposing for an addition to Bylaw XIV
Section VII: Club Funding 1. The club funding committee shall be appointed by the Club Department Chair in conjunction with the ELT. 2. The committee shall consist of 5 people: The Club Chair, the Vice-President of Finance, the controller, and 2 Senators a. in the even that a member cannot attend the funding committee meeting, the remaining committee members may appoint another member in conjunction with the A.S. Advisor.
Section VIII: Record of Revisions
2. Problems with Status Quo: Currently, there are no guidelines as to how club funding is to be conducted, nor are there any guidelines as to how the club funding committee is appointed. Adding this section to the Bylaw will not only allow for checks and balances in club funding, but it will also ensure a timely process for club funding and will limit the payroll expense.
3. Miscellaneous: Let it be known that this is not a statement of opinion or belief about the current club chair or previous chairs. This proposal is fit to see through the timely and cost effective process of club funding while providing accountability to the student body.
