SUBJECT: Lower Campus Movie Night
1. Proposal: We, the Lower Campus Senators, are proposing to host an event on Friday, November 13th for the residents of Hart, Hope and Stewart. The event will take place in the Hope Amphitheatre and we will be playing Pixar’s UP! Popcorn, refreshments and various treats will be provided.
2. Amount Requested: $1,225.49
3. Problems with Status Quo: There are no events that cater to the greater lower campus community. Right now, many residents feel disconnected to their neighboring dorms; we feel that this is an excellent opportunity for our constituents to socialize and get together. This is also a great opportunity for the senators to connect with their constituents and tangibly provide an event and experience that is lead by their senators and A.S.
4. Miscellaneous: This event will be marketed specifically to lower campus residents. We are anticipating approximately 300 people to attend the event. In the breakdown of expenses, prices are estimated (and slightly rounded up) based on prices found in Costco. Any leftover funds after the event is finished will be added back into contingency. We were able to save additional costs by borrowing a popcorn machine from Brianna Stewart, AS Spirit Board Chair, instead of renting two machines.
