How to propose to the Senate
If you want to propose to the A.S. Senate, you have to be scheduled on the Senate Agenda. Senate Meetings are on Tuesdays starting at 3pm. To be put on the agenda, you need to email an attached copy of your completed proposal to “AS Senior VP” on bubbs. Proposals must be previewed by the VP before they are presented to the Senate. Please include a phone number you can be contacted at in case an aspect of your proposal needs to be discussed before it is proposed.
The deadline to get on the agenda for each week is Monday at 6pm (but you can always make the request further in advance than that). You will be notified of what time to come to present your proposal; it’s always at the beginning of the meeting, around 3:00. You will have approximately 10 minutes to present it to the Senate, and then answer questions. Your proposal will be voted on the following week.
Attached is the proposal template. Please fill it out as stated, and try to keep it to one page.
Please contact “AS Senior VP” on bubbs with any questions.
