SUBJECT: StagePass 300 PA Sound System Proposal
1. Proposal: We are proposing for a PA system, the Yamaha StagePass 300, to be used for practice for the worship bands on chapel rotation. The portable PA system will also be easily accessible to others in AS and will only need to follow a simple check out system. We are proposing for the PA system, a carrier case, vocal microphones, XLR cables, and lock in order to secure it all.

3. Problems with Status Quo: Because of the increased regulations of the access to worship building, chapel bands are left without a place to practice for chapels. Having no place on campus to practice for chapels, bands have been traveling to churches as far as Long Beach. The lack of a place to practice means rough sets and less quality chapels. We’ve explored other alternatives and this is our best solution.
4. Miscellaneous: We have a system ready to be set in place to ensure the safekeeping of the equipment. The PA System will be kept in Student Services in the Chapel Intern’s office. The “check out” system will entail a detailed report of the equipment’s prior condition and on the equipment’s return to ensure proper care. It is based off Biola’s Production Center check out system for film equipment. The Sound System is approximated to last roughly 5 years which will help ensure future bands on chapel rotation guaranteed practice times, which will help promote smoother chapels and times of music led worship for the entire Biola Community. Our Worship Coordinator is able to get the dealer value on the StagePass 300 and carrier through his employer, Jeff Urke, thus saving over $359.15 if we act now.
