Change of Hope
In September, a change collection box was installed in every hall of Hope. We ask that you prayerfully give your extra change every week, whether it's what's left after your starbucks drink or the change you can't put on your laundry card. All the change collected will go to the Sumba Foundation (http://www.sumbafoundation.org). This is a collaborative effort with the RA's and RD's of Hope North and Hope South and AS. We hope to see these change boxes become a permanant installation in Hope and have the ability to help fund a new organization every year. That is why we named this project "Change of Hope," this is one way the Hope community can begin impacting the world for the Lord Jesus Christ. Together, with something as simple as change, we can give the people of Sumba a change, a Change of Hope.
THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR!

Proposals of 2/5
Please let me know what you think about these proposals. The Senate will be voting on Tuesday, February 12th.
Past Proposals (2/12)
Senator Towson of Sigma is very passionate about coming through with a Ping Pong Table for his dorm. In the proposal he assured the senate that this is something that many students in his dorm have been requesting for a long time and that it would indeed build community and give Sigma more “hang out” opportunities. I’m so far in favor of this proposal. Is this too much? Should Sigma instead fundraise for something like this?
The Egg
After casting a new Egg for Biola, Spirit Board no longer will give points for The Egg.
Proposals of the Week
The Senate votes for these proposals this Tuesday, February 5th. I would love to get some feedback from you.
Where are you, Environmentalists and Film Majors?
The Alpha Senators are starting a process of building conservation awareness across Biola’s campus. We are trying to get more recycle bins, encouraging floors to collect bottles as fund raisers, and educating students about how to recycle and conserve. We are planning on making a film to increase awareness for Biola students. Our goal is to have this completed by the end of the semester. If you are interested in helping us achieve this vision, please contact Jennifer Roman or Cheryl Massingill.

Commuter Senators FAQ
Hello there commuters! We, your commuter senators, have decided to make an FAQ for questions we tend to get asked regarding who we are and what exactly we do for you. We hope you are pleased with the responses given and we hope you leave feedback in the comments if you have any further questions or clarifications needed for our answers. What are "Commuter Senators"? According to the AS Directory: The AS Senators are to serve as representatives of their assigned constituents (Commuter Students in our Case). Senators primarily communicate the needs and opinions of students to the administration through the weekly Senate meeting as well as lobbying to the Administration. Senators are to keep their constituents informed of Administrative and AS news.

About 1,000 attended to trick-or-treat, play games, eat snacks, watch a movie, and jump in the bouncer. The residents of Alpha decorated their doors with their hall’s Candyland character themes. This gave the girls a great opportunity to bond with each other through the decorating process as well as an opportunity to reach out to the community.
