SUBJECT:
1. Proposal: I am proposing to add a tennis league that would happen every Wednesday and Thursday night for 9 weeks instead of just having one tournament that would last only one day.
2. Amount Requested: $400
I am asking for $400 for equipment in addition to the $100 in my budget. The $500 is for $120 for two tennis ball packs which we would play with every week, as well as buying 10 tennis rackets which are about $30 each (plus tax) to provide for those who want to participate but do not own a tennis racket. The money will also go toward a 75 ball carrier that is $40 as there would a need for extra balls for warm ups before each match. There would most likely need to be a few more
3. Problems with Status Quo: This is our first time having intramural tennis, and so we have no equipment for it yet. It is one of those sports where it needs to start off expensive, but then the years after it will be cheaper as we would already have the equipment.
4. Miscellaneous: This would get rid of the tournament that I originally asked for. I have heard of much interest from people at the courts during a tennis league that was put on by Dee Henry. I have also heard of a lot of interest from friends of mine that I have talked to as well. The line item will change from “tournament” to “league.” Intramural Board Director.
