24 April 2008 MEMORANDUM FOR A.S. SENIOR VP / SENATE

FROM: Josi Hwang / ISA President

SUBJECT: ISA Vice President on payroll

1. Proposal: Adding the ISA Vice President position to the AS staff payroll.

2. Amount Requested: $8.50/hour, 7hrs/week

3. Problems with Status Quo: The ISA VP helps the president supervise and lead the council, assists the council members with their events, and manages the budget/financial records. The ISA VP already puts about 6-9 hours a week into ISA without being paid. Other than the president, no one on the ISA staff is on the AS Staff payroll. Making this position paid will take some burden off of the president and allow the latter to delegate much of the duties. Furthermore, having two people from ISA in AS will support the ISA president in acting as a liaison between ISA and AS. Plus it will enhance ISA-AS relationships through more connections and communication.
