Spirit Board's Major Events:
*Midnight Madness* - To kick off the basketball season, Spirit Board and Biola University Alumni put on our biggest event of the year! Buzzing with screaming fans, three-point contests, and performances by the cheerleaders and hip-hop dancers, this event sizzles with Biola spirit. You will never forget this night!
*Nationball* - Want to show your dorm spirit? Twice a semester, Spirit Board hosts competitions where students come out dressed in their dorm colors and show Biola what they’ve got... so grab your floor and let’s see who wins.
*Study Break* - To erase those finals-week blues, AS Spirit Board invites Biola and Talbot students out to the Café for some late night karaoke, grub, and laughter. Don’t miss the food and fun just before finals.

By filling up a rice-bowl with change you can contribute to feeding orphans and gain points for your dorm! Red Sea Shirts... Something we have all been waiting for... Are coming... Saturday September 19th, before the Woman's Volleyball Game, at 6:45pm. Tuesday September 22nd, before the Woman's Volleyball Game against APU, at 6:45pm. Make sure you come get your shirt and become a part of Biola's Red Sea. New Students = FREE Everyone Else = 5$ DROWN THEM IN RED! Alternative times to hand out shirts will come with need.Introducing....

Spirit Board finally has their Staff for this year!! We are proud to Introduce... Miles Johnson... as Spirit Board Assistant. It is the Assistants job to assist the Chair in the planning, organizing and implementing of all Spirit Board events. Tyler Sharp... as Spirit Board Athletic Director. It is the Athletic Directors job to be the line of communication between the Athletics Department and Spirit Board, as well as being in charge of the promotion of all sports games. Stephanie McEachen... as the second Volunteer Coordinator. It is the Volunteer Coordinators job to be the line of communication between the Spirit Volunteer Board and the Spirit Staff, as well as organizing and coordinating the Volunteer Board for each Spirit Event and in Sports Promotion. These three will be joining Brianna Stewart and Jessica Wagenbach who previously made up Spirit Board. Brianna Stewart is the current Spirit Board Chair, and Jessica Wagenbach is the current Volunteer Coordinator.Midnight Madness 11/08

Midnight Madness 2009, a Ballin' Success! Thanks so much to everyone who came out on Sunday night to support Biola's Basketball Teams, and Pump-Up Biola's Spirit. It was a fantastic night full of energy, Basketball Players, our New BIOLA EAGLE!, the Red Sea, Cheerleaders, Xopoc, a Basketball Competition, the Kings Men, FREE Golden Spoon, and New Free T-shirts, thanks to our Amazing Woman's Basketball Team for getting 60 points in 10 minutes. You could hear the music bouncing, and the people cheering. Definitely a night to remember! A huge development took place as a New Biola Cheer was brought to the crowd. A cheer that will be performed at every sporting event, to show our Competition that will WE BE TAKING THEM TO CHURCH, as we totally rock them! Make sure you come to both the Men and Woman's Basketball Game on December 1st at 5:30pm with your Biola Red PomPom to claim your new Basketball t-shirt. Red Sea Shirts can be claimed or purchased at that game, and on December 8th when we dominate Point Loma (7:00pm).O.C.C WINS NATIONBALL 2009

A Round of Applause. A Standing Ovation. A Note Of Congratulations. All Hail to the Nationball Champions of 2009... O.C.C! O.C.C. blew away the crowd as the ravaged for the Nationball Crown. The underdogs coming in, there was not a single thought that the O.C.C. would prevail past the first round. To the shock of everyone they took out Hope in their first round. The first win of a great run of successes. Sigma then faced the challenge of the O.C.C. only to see defeat. The Final Battle came down to Horton, last years reigning Champions of not only Nationball but of Dorm Points in General, and the now infamous, O.C.C. It was a fierce battle where all claws came out, and to the utter shock of all, O.C.C. prevailed! Congraulations to O.C.C for Winning Nationball 2009! They will be awarded 500 Points for this Amazing Victory! As far as the Mini Competitions go... -Emerson rocked the house when their man was able to lick the Peanut Butter off the PlexiGlass the fastest. They will be awarded 150 points for this challenge. -We all rocked the house with a Dance Competition with O.C.C. 3rd with 50 points, Hope 2nd with 100 points, and Horton Claiming 1st with 150 points. Remember that you can gain Dorm Points throughout the year by getting traditions, or dorm unifying events put together, as well as finding the Egg. Look for other competitions at events like Midnight Madness, and Study Break for more chances to get dorm points and become the Dorm Champions of 2009-2010!Midnight Madness 2009!

Spirit Board Chair
Spirit Board exists to promote Biola Spirit. Our main focus on achieving this is by sports pormotion. Our events include Dorm Competitions, Midnight Madness, and Study Break. Spirit Board's staff includes Brianna Stewart as Spirit Board Chair, Mike Morin as Spirit Athletics Director, and Jessica Wagenbach as Volunteer Coordinator. If you are all about Biola and getting people pumped, BUBBS AS Spirit Chair, there is still one paid, and one volunteer staff positions open. Spirit Board also has an extended volunteer board to help coordinate events. Check out our blog for Spirit Board's latest events and pictures!
How you can get involved… Spirit Board always wants more volunteers. We would love to have students to plan, set up, and help us pull off our events. If you’re interested in getting involved, contact Brianna Stewart at as.spirit.board@biola.edu or dial extension x5907. Application forms are also avaiable in the AS Office at the top of the SUB.
