The Biola Egg

A long time Biola tradition to promote nice residential student competition

General Rules:

1. The Egg MUST remain on the Biola campus at all times. 2. The egg can NOT be destroyed 3. Spirit Board has the only authority to ask location in effect of a Call Out or its own initiative. 4. AS Spirit Board has the right to relinquish the Egg for any reason and has ultimate authority. 5. The Egg cannot be hidden in-doors. 6. Biola Logo on Egg must not be painted on or destroyed. 7. One Third of the Egg must be showing. 8. AS Spirit Board has the right to revise the Egg rules as seen necessary. 9. Biola University and AS Spirit Board will not be held responsible for any injuries acquired during the transportation or physical contact of the Egg. 10. The Egg must be put in a hiding place (outside) within 72 hours of possession.

Possessor:

The Possessor is any student floor in a Residential Dormitory recognized by Biola University Residence Life (Possessors include apartment floors, see 1 b) as well as full time commuter students.

The Possessor must inform AS Spirit Board the change in possessors upon finding and stealing the Egg.

Painting and decorating the Egg is strongly encouraged to obtain the Possessor’s discretion but logo must remain.

Semester Showcase:

The Semester Showcase constitutes one consecutive 24 hour period each Fall and Spring semester.

The Egg must be displayed for all Biola Students to view.

The Semester consists of the first day of classes through the last day of finals. (Dates determined and listed on Biola’s master academic calendar).

AS Spirit Board must be informed of the location of the display.

Failure to display the Egg for the entire 24 hours results in the floor (Possessor) relinquishing their possession to AS Spirit Board.

At no point during the Showcase is the Egg safe from opposing floors.

Monthly Photo:

The Possessor must provide one minimum Monthly Photo. This includes a photo dated close to the initial acquisition of the Egg.

Photo will include all of the following a. 5+ members of the floor (must be residents). b. Post the photo in the AS Spirit Board folder c. Include date and location.

The Call Out:

The Call Out is the process of an opposing Resident Floor officially requesting the AS Spirit Board to confirm the appropriate procedures of the Possessor.

If an opposing floor suspects the Possessor has violated any of the Egg rules, then a representative from the floor will present the following formal statement known as a Call Out to the AS Spirit Board.

If the Call Out is deemed necessary according to AS Spirit Board the Possessor will be contacted and will then have 24 hours to present the Egg before Spirit Board to confirm the Egg’s status on campus.
