SUBJECT: Chimes Office Improvements
1. Proposal: The Chimes is proposing for new chairs, lighting fixtures, and the cost of binding newspapers.
2. Amount Requested: $900
3. Problems with the status quo:
New Chairs: Currently, 4 of the 7 chairs in the office are broken. Therefore we need new chairs to replace the broken ones. Plan: 4 chairs at $99/chair Amount: $450
Lighting fixtures: The Chimes needs new lighting fixtures. Fluorescent lighting is unhealthy and makes it hard to work under after a certain period of time. Most of the employees get headaches from the lighting. Plan: 1 set of track lighting ($30) & 3 desk lamps ($60) Amount: $90
Binding Newspapers: The Chimes is also proposing for money for binding the newspapers. Currently, we have 2 file cabinets full of past issues of The Chimes that need to be archived. This is not only important for The Chimes, but also important for the university to preserve history. Binding Cost: Approx. $90/year Amount: $360
4. Miscellaneous: These are all necessities for The Chimes and one time costs. We researched different options and chose the most cost efficient items. Please do not hesitate to ask any further questions. Chimes Editor in Chief
