Senate

Stuart Weir

Emerson Senator

I’ve served you in the past, but that’s history. I can’t guarantee what will happen in the future, that’s a mystery. But today is a gift, that is why it is called the present, and you are presently blessed to have me as your senator. Living in Emerson I have found that joy is not found in things (air conditioning, women etc), it is found in us, my brothers. For I have learned to write my hurts in the sand and my blessings in stone, and I will reach out my hand if you unclench your fist. I do not want to ask the question “does AS work?” but rather “does AS work for you?”. A wise man once told me “do not let moochers into thy hut”, he also told me “thou shalt protect thy brother and honor no one above him, unless it beith God, thy sweet Lord”. I will not be the moocher in thy hut, but I will instead serve you for yet another year. I will not neglect to honor you, but neither will I neglect to honor God. Remember, together we can wish it, dream it, do it.

Daniel Denner

South Horton Senator

Hello South Horton, my name is Daniel Denner and I am your senator. I can’t wait for what God has in store for us this year. It’s going to be a great year. I will do my best to represent you accurately and keep you updated on all upcoming events. My goal is to create amazing Godly community through out South Horton that extends to the whole campus. We have some great events planned for this year, some that are a tradition and some that may be a part of Horton’s tradition in the future. I’m so excited to meet all of you and to serve you this year. Please feel free to come to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Joey Finrow

North Horton Senator

Hey everyone I'm Joey Finrow the North Horton Senator and I am excited for this upcoming year. As your Senator I plan to do all these things and more. You are welcome to come to me for any questions or new ways to make Horton or Biola a better place. I am here to serve you! My room number is N 330.

Emily Anderson

Sigma Senator

I am proud to be a representative of Sigma Chi and Biola. I am thrilled to be your senator and bring your ideas to the senate. As your senator, I want to hear your ideas on how to improve the present and the future. It is my goal to enhance the community of Sigma while being an integral part of the Biola community as a whole. Please don’t hesitate to provide your suggestions for events or activities. Mark Tomlinson

I’m proud to be a part of AS representing Sigma Chi. This year I want to work toward truly uniting Sigma as a dorm-wide family. I know there will be many at Sigma who will have strong ideas on how to improve campus life, and I am prepared to be as accessible, open, and as transparent as possible in order to foster friendships and improve the quality of life for Sigma residents here at Biola. Stop by room 103 and come talk to me some time!

Stephanie Wilkerson

Hart Senator

It is my pleasure to represent the residents of Hart in the 2009-2010 Senate. As Senator, I commit myself to listen attentively to the concerns and ideas of this year’s residents of Hart so that together we can make Hart the best dorm that it can be. I want to empower the residents of Hart as they pursue their visions for the Hart community as well as provide them with the knowledge of how they can be involved on their campus. I invite the residents of Hart to share thoughts and ideas with me on any issues, events, and projects, both now and in the future, so that together, we can raise up a community of students bonded together in love for the glory of Our Savior and King, Jesus Christ.

Anna Kennedy

Alpha East Senator

This whole Senator thing is a new adventure for me but one that I am ready and willing to be a part of. I love Biola and I also love the unique place where I get to live and serve: Alpha East. Starting college can be a scary endeavor—I know from experience—and my desire is to listen to what the women of Alpha East have to say, get their voices heard, help make changes to Alpha, get people involved, provide a connection between the Associated Students and Alpha, and be a servant leader to everyone around me. Although my door may not always be physically open I hope that all the AE women know that they can come to me anytime for any reason. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you and hopefully bring the AE community of women together to help make Biola a better place.

Peter Heald

Hope North Senator

It is important that I accurately represent the residents of Hope North. I will work hard to keep students up to date about current AS issues and events. If you ever have a question concern or just something to say please email, call, or stop by my room. Look for me around campus; I’m the really tall one. I know Hope North is a great dorm and that’s why it is crucial for your opinion to be heard. I’m fast, thorough, and sharp as a tack; you can find me touring the facility and picking up slack. I get up early, stay up late and I use a machete to cut through red tape.

Sarah Valle

I am very much excited to serve the students of Hope South this year. My desire for this year is to obtain strong communication with the students of Hope to help make your voice heard by AS and administration. I am here to help you thrive. As members of the student body, it is important to remember that your voice matters! With this in mind, I will be working to the best of my ability to ensure that I communicate and represent your ideas, opinions and needs to the Senate. I also will make sure that everyone is informed of what is going on around campus; whether it is an upcoming event or a pending proposal. If you ever have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know! I would love to help enable you to see your desires come to fruition. Ultimately, my passion is to make sure that together our experience at Biola is a memorable one. Let's work together and have a great year!

Lizzie Neely

Bluff Senator

As the Bluff Senator, I am most looking forward to learning how to be a servant leader and to see what God will do through both me and the Bluff residents this year. While elected, I hope to get to know you on a personal level; my goal is to get a pulse on what your opinions are so that I can accurately present your voice to the senate and administration. I invite you to share your concerns and suggestions with me on any campus issue and will strive to do what I can to make necessary improvements. Aside from informing you on current proposals, asking for your ideas, and listening to your concerns, my top priority is to serve YOU in any way I can. Let me know how!
